KSF Portfolio

Reflective Practice Support Pack Cover

The LPE&T KSF Portfolio has been developed as a useful tool to assist pharmacy staff to get to grips with the NHS Knowledge and Skills Framework (KSF). The KSF may seem rather daunting at first and the aim of this portfolio is to guide you through the process and help you to record your evidence by providing you with information, advice and easy to use recording forms. Additional copies of these recording forms can be found in the appendices of the pack.

All NHS pharmacy staff must contribute to their own personal development, and the KSF Portfolio has been designed to help them to do this.

The degree of ownership and responsibility that you will be expected to take with your own personal development and CPD depends on the level of your personal and people development dimension (C2) in your KSF outline. Individuals with C2 at levels 2 and above in their KSF outline may also benefit from working through the LPE&T Individual Knowledge and Skills Analysis (IKSA) pack, which is intended to supplement the KSF Portfolio.

Individual Knowledge & Skills Analysis (IKSA) pack

IKSA The Individual Knowledge & Skills Analysis (IKSA) pack aims to support you, with the help of your CPD Facilitator, manager or colleague, to develop a Personal Development Plan (PDP) to meet your KSF outline. A PDP is a tool to help you review and plan your development in the short, medium and long term. Your PDP will be informed by looking at your own learning and development needs against the requirements of your post as described in your NHS KSF post outline. This means that, although a number of individuals may have the same NHS KSF outline as you for their post, you will each have your own individual PDP because you will each have your own strengths and also your own learning and development needs. You should review your PDP regularly (e.g. annually) to ensure you keep it up to date as changes in your personal and professional life occur. The PDP is produced at stage 2 of the KSF development review cycle.
